The Miami Herald has deployed Syncronex’s billing module to its retailers changing their single copy operations and relationships with distributors. The Mobile Printing add-on provides drivers the ability to capture signatures for proof of delivery as well as generate receipts and invoices.
Originally purchased to help the newspaper reduce returns, the Miami Herald is able to view rack information within the following week and location data the next day as soon as agents upload their handhelds to the circulation system. This allows single copy managers to maintain low return percentage and subsequently reduce costs. Now, the Syncronex application has evolved into a comprehensive single copy operation solution.
With the introduction of the Syncronex billing module and the ability to upload draw and return information directly into their circulation system, distributors do not have to collect a bill from each store and manage invoicing. “Their roles have changed dramatically,” says Esther Ortiz, Single Copy Director. “Distributors no longer have to be responsible for the buy and sell process and shift into becoming pure delivery agents. This increases accountability for and control over our single copy operations.”
“We are excited that Miami has joined our other newspaper customers in utilizing the Mobile Printing product to enhance their overall Syncronex investment,” says Mike Pirello, President of Syncronex. “The module is the logical next step in maximizing the single copy solution especially with the increased requirement for proof of delivery as part of the invoicing process.”
